Billy Gibbons – ZZ Top
Before making his breakthrough with ZZ Top, Billy was described as ‘one of the best young guitarists in the US by Jimi Hendrix, who had chosen Billy’s first band – Moving Sidewalks – to support him on tour. Billy came from an artistic family, his father was a professional entertainer, conductor and concert pianist, he had cousins working as set designers for MGM in Hollywood. When he was 5 his mother took him and his sister to see Elvis Presley. At 7 his father took him to see BB King. He got his first electric guitar for his 13th birthday.
