Brian may be the face and voice of millionaire rock icons AC/DC today, but he nearly gave up on music. His first band Geordie had very limited success, and at the age of 32 with a 12 year old daughter to look after, he started a roof repair business to make ends meet. Then out of the blue, his chance came with the unexpected death of Bon Scott. Scott had praised Brian’s talent as a singer before his death, so the band asked Brian to audition. He blew them away. They accepted him and he became the third lead vocalist of AC/DC. Brian credits Mutt Lange the producer of breakthrough album ‘Back in Black’ for his vocal style – the producer told him to ‘go for it’ and hit the high notes. Before that he says he didn’t know he had it in him. Thankfully he certainly does.
