Glover was playing bass for a band called Episode Six that had Ian Gillan as vocalist. When Gillan was invited to a session with Deep Purple he took Roger along with him. The band hired both of them. Blackmore recalls: “He turned up for the session…he was their [Episode Six’s] bass player. We weren’t originally going to take him until Paicey said, ‘he’s a good bass player, let’s keep him.’ So I said okay” Glover would remain one of the few permanent fixtures by Blackmore’s side – not only establishing himself in Deep Purple but also in Rainbow, as whom Roger and Ritchie are performing here. Glover is not only a famous musician he is also a respected Producer, having created albums for the likes of Deep Purple, Nazareth, Ian Gillan, Rainbow, Judas Priest, Status Quo, and David Coverdale.
